- Leave work around 6:00 and finish whatever work I need to after dinner instead of staying at work until 7 or after as I have been for months.
- Make dinner at home at least 3 times (myself or help hubby)
- Pack my lunch at least 2 times.
- Wear my contact lenses 2 days, instead of just lazily tossing on my glasses
- Put on make up at least one day
- Walk at least one morning with Yeats
- Walk at least 2 evenings with Yeats
- Eat the 100 calorie snacks I took to work instead of indulging in something worse for me. I had eschewed these snacks feeling natural foods were better. . .and I still think that . . .but hell, if I'm going to eat a huge $2.99 brownie or get a milkshake mid afternoon, I think I'd be better off with a 100 calorie pack of Goldfish or fake Oreos. . .
I don't feel excited about this or particularly confident. . . but just doing one thing once will give those feelings a little kick in the butt. . .
Hey, those 100 cal. snack packs are alright b/c even if you ate two or three, it would still save you a bunch of calories compared to if you ate regular Oreos or Cheez-its. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I just got a harness for the "puppy" so I'm going to have to start walking with him to make him tamer! he he
There ya go. One thing built upon another...
ReplyDeleteI wish you success.
One foot in front of the other - that's how you'll get to where you're going. It's good that you wrote it all out - I always find that to be a great help. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteits ok, I lazily toss on my glasses all the time :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea to write a list. So many things that we want to do but the week slips by. I may follow your example and create my own. Good luck with yours!
ReplyDeleteWhat I really like about this post is your title, "Reclaiming Balance" sounds so confident and proactive - taking back something you know belongs to you. I kind of wish you had kept that tone in your post, but just the acknowledgment that you've had that balance before and will again seems like a great first step in itself.
ReplyDeleteBalance? what is that? Oh, something to reclaim, right? I once had labyrinthitis (inside the ear probolem), really messed up my world for quite a while. But now only jumps back at me now and again.
ReplyDeleteBalance in my eating habits is a day to day thing. Balance while standing on the top of a step ladder? Fat chance. Exercise - I ride a tricycle! Great exercise! Really, Best to you, love your blog. ... my mind says I'm 27,Pat.
