Friends Back When?

Do you ever wonder if people you love now would have appealed to you when you were a kid? I do. Especially when there is an age gap between us.

Like Hubby and I are 17 years apart. Would he have felt some kind of special connection to me if he'd met me when I was 7 or 8, let's say and he was 24 or 25? (I don't mean in any obscene way!) I've certainly met people and thought, if he or she was just 20 years older. . . (not that I don't start enjoying them at the age/level they are. . . but the give and take is different).

Anywho, the point is, I don't think Puppy Yeats and I would have been playmates if she'd been a "kid"when I was one. Why? Because she LOVED her field day--her last day of puppy training. I would have tried to stay home sick!

Course, this doesn't mean I find her any less fluffy, cuddly, and affectionate now!

But I'm not much into swinging. . .

  1. Puppy Yeats is so freaking adorable :) My husband and I are 17 years apart, too, and I often tease him that he probably would have liked me in his drug-induced hippie state if he saw me at 15 and he at 32 ;)

  2. My hubby and I are five years apart and I've often wondered what he would have done had his 16 year old horny self met my 11 year old snot-nosed self. lol.

  3. Such a cute puppy! My kids would love Puppy Yeats! Thanks for stopping by my blog and recommending that I visit Mommy Nintendo's blog. I'll let you know if I decide to take on the poetry challenge!

It is funny about age and perspective. Even though I'm 40, I still feel like that little 10 year old girl inside. Do any of us really change much after all?

  4. How adorable! I loved field day!!! I think it was what I waited for all year. My hubs and I are 6 years apart and I think I would have had a crush on him had I known him as a teen. He had longer hair back then and I was into that. My little sis and her hubs are 20 years apart. I would love to know how she would answer that question! :)

    Peace - Rene
